Looking for a vibrant, high-energy spot to throw your next event? Hiki brings the music, neon lights, and unbeatable vibes — the perfect setting for a celebration your guests won’t forget.

Our deck area is the go-to space for parties. With room to host up to 80 guests or the option to reserve half the deck for up to 40, it’s ideal for birthdays, work parties, or any excuse to get the crew together. While not a fully private area, we create a semi-exclusive experience with clearly reserved sections just for your group.

There's also a lounge area opposite the main bar, complete with a retractable roof — perfect for warm summer evenings. This space is available for walk-ins only and adds to the laid-back, open vibe of the venue.

FAQ

How do I secure an event booking at Chiki Chan?

A 30% deposit is required to secure your event space and is deducted from the final payment.

Are we allowed to decorate the venue ourselves?

Yes, but all décor must comply with venue rules. Unapproved items may incur additional cleaning or removal charges. A $400 cleaning fee applies for using banned decorative items such as confetti without prior approval.

Can I bring my own food, drinks, or cake?

BYO food or alcohol is not allowed. Celebration cakes are the only exception and require a completed waiver form.

What decorations or items are not allowed at the venue?

Confetti, rose petals, rice, metallic sprinkles, pyrotechnics and smoke machines are prohibited unless approved.

Is there parking available?

Although we don’t have onsite parking, at Chiki Chan we’re forward thinkers. There’s plenty of street level parking around the restaurant and even a couple of carparks within walking distance. Although, for a really good time (and the safety of all our patrons) we recommend not driving if you’re planning on drinking. You can also catch the train – Mordialloc train station is just a short 5-minute walk down the road.

When do I need to confirm menu selections and dietary requirements?

Menu selections must be confirmed 14 days before the event. Dietary requirements are due 7 days prior. All menu items and prices are subject to change. Prices are inclusive of GST.

Can we book for a large group?

Yes. Please do. We’d love to have everyone over for dinner and lunch. Just give us a call if your group is larger than 12 people or flick an email to our Events Team at events@chikichan.com.au

How long can my event run for?

Events are scheduled for up to 5 hours. Extra time may be requested, but additional charges may apply.

Do we have wheelchair access?

Yes we are, however please call us ahead of time and give us the heads up, as only certain areas and tables of our venue are accessible.

What is Chiki Chan’s alcohol service policy?

Service can be stopped at any time if guests appear intoxicated or behave inappropriately. All guests under 18 must be accompanied by a legal guardian and will not be served alcohol.

Do you have vegan and vegetarian option?

We wouldn’t be a Modern Melbourne restaurant if we didn’t offer exceptional vegetarian and vegan options. Peek at our menu for items labelled ‘(V)’ for vegetarian or ‘(Ve)’ for vegan or ask your waitperson to find out what your options are.

Couldn’t recommend Chiki Chan in Mordialloc enough. The food was unreal from start to finish.Massive shoutout to head chef Fin — you can tell a lot of thought and creativity has gone into the menu. Every dish we tried was packed with flavour, well balanced and genuinely memorable. Easily one of the best feeds I’ve had in a while.Also have to mention Cash behind the bar. The drinks were unreal and matched the food perfectly. Great cocktails and you can tell he knows exactly what he’s doing behind the bar.And a big shoutout to our waiter Charlie, who looked after us all night. Absolutely loved my experience at Chiki Chan on Friday night! 💕 As a coeliac girly, I’m always so appreciative when staff take the extra time to understand my dietary needs, and the care I received was honestly amazing.A huge thank you to the bartender who went out of his way to check every ingredient in a particular cocktail to make sure it was coeliac-safe, and then offered me a safe option for my second drink. I’ve honestly never received that level of care and consideration before.It made me feel so looked after and allowed me to enjoy my night without the usual worry. Love the Asian fusion and design of the place. Spacious and comfortable, just a little too dark and the photos couldn't justify the goodness of dishes. Service was fantastic and it wasn't noisy as at all! Delicious food but the menu is a bit small, and it didn't help when they ran out of pork, chicken and prawn on Sunday night at 1700, so the choices were limited.Parking is pretty easy on the side street too! Hopefully next time I could try other dishes and their menu could grow bigger.

Overall, we had a pleasant experience with friendly service and a great atmosphere. Our waiter was attentive and welcoming.The vegetable dumplings were a little disappointing. They were served on what was described as a dark soy sauce, but it was much sweeter than expected. The dumplings themselves were quite under-seasoned and would have benefited from a saltier, more savoury soy sauce to balance the flavours.We visited on curry night and arrived at 6:00 pm. The menu advertised two curries, a beef rendang and a fish curry but the fish curry wasn’t available. That was disappointing, especially so early in the evening when it’s being promoted as a curry night and they were the only two curries on offer. The beef rendang curry was delicious and full of flavour, but there were quite a few pieces of meat that were mostly fat. It also arrived only just warm, bordering on cold, and would have been much better served hotter. The roti was tasty, but unfortunately it was a little too greasy.On a positive note, the burrata dish was absolutely delicious and easily the standout of the meal. I’d definitely recommend ordering it!Overall, there’s a lot to like, especially the atmosphere and service, but the food could do with a little more seasoning and better attention to temperature.

The food, the vibe, the venue all great. But the stand out was our waiter Charlie who was nothing but exceptional.We didn’t want to look at the menu we just told him to feed 4 of us. These days people can’t do that easily. Charlie understood the menu, got to know us casually and confidently decided on our dinner. He knew the menu, and could talk to it so well. His choices were spot on.This young man will do great in whatever he does, his enthusiasm and good energy made our dinner experience very memorable. I celebrated my birthday at Chiki Chan and the food was amazing ~ complements to the Chef, the chicken inasal was so tasty, the burrata was so yum! the porterhouse steak cooked to perfection, the chicken rib fried to perfection, the sauce of the steamed barramundi has a great balance, everything we ordered was great and all the staff were very accomodating. It was a busy day but I could see that all the staff are making sure everyone is having a great experience. I highly recommend and will definitely come back!💯
