How do I secure an event booking at Chiki Chan?

A 30% deposit is required to secure your event space and is deducted from the final payment.

How long can my event run for?

Events are scheduled for up to 5 hours. Extra time may be requested, but additional charges may apply.

Is security required for certain events?

Yes, all 18th and 21st birthday parties require a hired security guard, arranged by Chiki Chan’s Events Team.

Is there a private space for functions?

Of course! We’d love to help you celebrate every one of life’s milestones – big or small. We have both indoor and outdoor spaces throughout Hiki Bar and Chiki Chan – including a large banquet space that overlooks Mordi Beach. Enquire now at events@chikichan.com.au

When do I need to confirm menu selections and dietary requirements?

Menu selections must be confirmed 14 days before the event. Dietary requirements are due 7 days prior. All menu items and prices are subject to change. Prices are inclusive of GST.

Is there parking available?

Although we don’t have onsite parking, at Chiki Chan we’re forward thinkers. There’s plenty of street level parking around the restaurant and even a couple of carparks within walking distance. Although, for a really good time (and the safety of all our patrons) we recommend not driving if you’re planning on drinking. You can also catch the train – Mordialloc train station is just a short 5-minute walk down the road.

Are there any surcharges on public holidays?

Yes, a 15% surcharge applies to all food and beverage items on public holidays.

Are we wheelchair available?

Yes we are, however please call us ahead of time and give us the heads up, as only certain areas and tables of our venue are accessible.

We celebrated a double birthday with you and we couldn’t have been happier. The food was absolutely delicious the ambience and staff were brilliant. Our waiter Jackson was amazing, he was as friendly as he was professional. Couldn’t fault anything. We will definitely be back !

Great tasting food with some great experimentation on ingredients which works well such as the orange reduction for the brocollini, salmon roe for the egg noddles and ginger on top of the chicken siumai ( my only small critique is using hoisin sauce as the siu mai dipping sauce which doesn't work for my Asian palate ; simple soy or vinegar would've sufficed) .. the pork belly ( melt in your mouth texture with crispy skin) , pork rib nibblets and barramundi were cooked perfectly 👌 ( too full for the desserts so will have to come back for another round)

Plentiful, delicious food (our group of 6 chose the bottomless tapas - highly recommend) and friendly, welcoming staff from the moment you enter the beautiful restaurant. We all left saying we would be back again very soon!

We recently visited Chiki Chan in Mordialloc and opted for the “Fire It Up” banquet at $69 per person. A major issue was the inflexible menu policy requiring the entire table to choose the banquet or go à la carte, which isn’t family-friendly or accommodating for dietary preferences or restrictions. We noticed that a table of two next to us ordered the same banquet, and the burrata portion served to them was identical to what we received for our table of four. Other dishes, like the fish, curry, and scallops, were only slightly larger than what was served to the couple—not proportionate to the extra cost.

The food was decent but could’ve been more flavorful. Some dishes, like the fish and pork, were slightly overcooked and dry. The banquet relied heavily on fillers—potato salad, bread, and rice—leaving us feeling shortchanged on protein and variety.

Service was a mixed bag. While food came out rapidly (we were in and out in about an hour), drink service lagged behind. It took around 10 minutes to flag down a server for a drink order, and my wine didn’t arrive until I was already halfway through the main course.

Overall, the experience felt overpriced for a local spot. We’d recommend Chiki Chan for couples, where the pricing makes more sense, but larger groups may find the portions and overall value lacking. Greater flexibility with the menu and more thoughtful portion scaling would significantly improve the experience.

Food: Feed me was good value in terms of the quantity. Flavours were mostly good (chicken curry was great) however some flavours did not work for us. The crudo sauce was completely overpowering and the pork belly sauce was misaligned with the pork. The temperature of the food was mostly luke warm which I suspect is a result of pre cooking (barramundi and pork belly).

Service: One word bizarre. We were sat promptly but then told we need to order food immediately and told to prioritize it before drinks (8.45pm booking). We then ordered our drinks which we were then told would be a delay (20mins) due to staffing. I then changed my drink to a beer and was told that would still be as long. I went back to the original drink and they arrived in mins. Next the burata came out and was told it is better to eat with the bread but you can have it without as they bread was not provided. The food was also pumped out as it appeared the wanted to shut the kitchen down.
